The DERMA-K laser provides you the benefits of ERBIUM and CO2 laser skin resurfacing in one procedure. Now, we can use both the ERBIUM and CO2 lasers simultaneously to provide you with the most controlled laser skin resurfacing possible.

DERMA-K was designed to remove superficial wrinkles from around the eyes, lips, forehead and cheeks, as well as deeper wrinkles seen in aging skin. Facial scars and sun-damaged skin are also excellent candidates for this treatment.

The DERMA-K laser gives your physician precise control over the natural exfoliation process. By gently vaporizing the outer layers of sun-damaged or acne-scarred skin, your new smooth, fresh skin underneath is revealed.

The fine lines and wrinkles are removed in a precise, rapid, bloodless fashion to achieve excellent results. Laser skin rejuvenation with the DERMA-K can be performed with local anesthesia if limited areas are treated, while full face resurfacing is usually performed with the administration of intravenous sedation. Both procedures may be performed in our office.

What is Derma K?

How does Derma K laser resurfacing work?
Derma K is the first and the only laser to deliver a scientifically measured blend of simultaneous light treatment that offers the best treatment alternative for you. It combines the advantages of the COČ laser, used for years for skin rejuvenation, with the precision capabilities of the Erbium: YAG laser. The erbium: YAG wavelength gently and precisely removes skin, layer by layer, while the COČ wavelength provides beneficial heating to the underlying tissue.

What areas can be treated?
Because Derma K is so gentle, it can be considered for treating areas other than just the face. The neck, chest, back and extremities may also be treated. Please consult Dr. Friedman regarding your specific requirements.

What is treatment like?

How long is a typical treatment?
Each case varies. When only small areas are treated, the procedure time is short. Typically the procedure may last about an hour, but your doctor will discuss this with you as well.

What are the side effects of laser resurfacing?
Side effects vary individually, but are typically minimal.

Are there restrictions on my activities after treatment?
Following a treatment with the Derma K, there will be only minimal restrictions on your activities. Dr. Freidman will discuss any restrictions that may apply to your procedure.
