Paul M. Friedman, MD
Paul M. Friedman, M.D., board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology, is the Director of the DermSurgery Laser Center in Houston, Texas. He was educated in dermatology at the New York School of Medicine, the nation’s top dermatology residency program. There, he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Husik Prize for his dermatologic research. He trained in dermatologic laser surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York. Dr. Friedman was the recipient of the Young Investigator’s Writing Competition Award of The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery in 2001.
Dr. Friedman is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical School, Department of Dermatology, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College, The Methodist Hospital. He is also on staff at Texas Children's Hospital and Memorial-Hermann Hospital. He has served as Chair of the Public Service Committee of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr. Friedman has authored of over 50 medical journal articles and book chapters and has been recognized as a leading researcher and physician in the field of dermatology. H Texas Magazine named him one of Houston’s Top Doctors in 2005 and 2006. In 2007 and 2008, Dr. Friedman was selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in America.
Dr. Friedman has been featured in several magazines and periodicals, such as the New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, New Beauty, Good Housekeeping and Family Circle. He has also been featured in over 30 news programs on the Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC networks. Dr. Friedman has been involved in the development of several new dermatological laser systems and techniques that are now commonly used around the world.
Dr. Friedman has recently completed Beautiful Skin Revealed, a major book on laser and dermatologic surgery to be released in the Spring of 2009 and is the first physician to have a book published by New Beauty Magazine’s Sandow Media Corporation.

Denise Marquez, MPAS, PA-C received her B.A. degree in biology from the University of Houston and her master’s of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Denise is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and Society of Dermatology Assistants. Her specialized areas are laser and cosmetic procedures, Mohs micrographic surgery, and other minor dermatologic procedures and surgeries. She is currently researching the use of laser devices for acne vulgaris and actinic keratosis (AK).
