Paul M. Friedman, MD
Paul M. Friedman, MD, Director of the DermSurgery Laser Center of Houston, Texas was educated in dermatology at the New York University School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Husik Prize for his dermatologic research. He trained in dermatologic laser surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York and was the recipient of the Young Investigator’s Writing Competition Award of The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr. Friedman is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical School, Department of Dermatology, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology, Weill Cornell Medical College, The Methodist Hospital. He is also on staff at Texas Children's Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital. He was a Clinical Specialist at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and served as Chair of the Public Service Committee for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Friedman has been a featured speaker of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and other national and international audiences. He has authored over 50 medical articles and book chapters. Dr. Friedman has been recognized as a leading researcher and physician in the field and was listed by H Texas Magazine as one of Houston’s Top Doctors in 2005 and 2006, and has been selected for inclusion in the 2007 Edition of Who’s Who in America.

Dr. Friedman has given many television, radio, magazine and newspaper interviews, including the New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar (see the article), Good Housekeeping, and Family Circle (see the article). He has also been involved in the development of several new laser systems which are now commonly used throughout the world.

Denise Marquez, MPAS, PA-C received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Houston and her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Denise is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and Society of Dermatology Assistants. Her areas of interest include laser and cosmetic procedures, Mohs Micrographic surgery, and other minor dermatologic procedures and surgeries. Her current research involves the use of laser devices for acne vulgaris and actinic keratosis.
